The Influence of West Thinking Toward Islamic Teaching

Religion is as encompassing all aspects of life, like Islam provides a complete set of teaching focusing on both internal and external facets of spiritual existence.
This can be seen in the various rituals and social activities practiced by Muslim in the expression of their beliefs. There are at least three distinct approaches use used by Muslim in this regard. The first is that jurist who prefer seeking by implementing His laws through understanding the Qur’an and prophetic tradition. Second, theologian tend to choose a rational approaches to understanding almighty by analyzing sacred text.
However, now days Islam religion is being faced by many problems which can damage to the Islam teaching. Because as we know, right now the west culture has been entering and still becomes a phenomenon which invites the attention toward Indonesia culture especially to Islam teaching. We can see that the most of scientist are person who knows more about the tradition of west culture and where science come from, it is the information comes from west.
A lot of opinions come to social life of Indonesia that a man cannot be reformer if he does not learn more about west, because the west thinking becomes the first outsider on awareness of our nation especially to the Islam teaching and it is one of source for the culture of scientific. What about Islam which has regulation and orientation written in the Qur’an, does Islam allow to it followers to learn science form west?
The west culture has been a general thing which cannot be avoided because the impact of globalization, as we know that Indonesia is country which most of the population are Moslem. Then Islam should be able to aware of the challenges which will damage to authentic of the Islam teaching. Looking at the west culture which still becomes big problem that we continually copy from west since the resurgence of modernism. In near of distance, we always do excerpting and translating of the works of figure, thinker, man of letters and scientist which come from west, because the west product is biggest than Indonesian product and Islam cannot change to this condition. Then, Islam should be able to change the condition which still around us and faced by our nation.
